How to choose your player to listen to the audio journeys:

1. Flash: This may take up to 20 seconds to load on a high speed connection, and possibly up to 10 minutes or longer on a dial up modem. However, many people feel that it is worth the wait because the journey is 100% loaded before it starts to play, so there is typically no stopping and starting once it starts playing.

2. Media will select whatever is your default player on your computer. This may take up to 20 seconds to load on a high speed connection, and possibly up to 10 minutes or longer on a dial up modem. However, many people feel that it is worth the wait because it loads 100% before it starts to play, so there is typically no stopping and starting once it starts playing.

3. RealPlayer: For high speed and dial-up, the journey will start playing sooner than the others because it loads a little of the audio into your buffer, plays what is loaded, loads more audio material, etc., allowing for faster access to the journey. With high speed, your experience of RealPlayer may be the same as Flash or Media. For dial up, using Real Player will start playing sooner, but may start and stop during playback as it buffers/loads slowly depending on internet congestion.

Our recommendations:
Each of these players will load at a different speed depending on your internet connection speed and your computer.
High Speed Connections: For high-speed access we recommend using the Flash or Media option, which will typically load within 20 seconds and usually play without any stopping or starting.
Dial Up: for dial up use we recommend using the Real Audio player as it loads much faster.  However, if you are having problems with it starting and stopping, either play the journeys at a time when there are less people on the internet, or use the Flash and Media option and wait for them to start.

Quick Problem check
Click the button one time and wait for your player to open and begin loading the audio file. Please do not click on the button repeatedly as this may start your player again and again and slow down your computer beginning to play the file.

Make sure your default player or Windows Media player is set to display, i.e. that it is not set to minimize or be hidden behind another window.

For Your Information
What Is a Stream?
A stream is a digital media file that is delivered to your computer on a real-time basis from the Internet; therefore, you need an active Internet connection while listening. The streaming file can contain music and/or video. Depending on your Internet connection, the stream may be interrupted occasionally while you are playing it. If that occurs, the file will automatically restart where it left off as soon as a new connection is made. A copy of the streaming file is not saved on your hard drive.

Download Free Flash, RealOne, Windows Media Players
We have developed the programming necessary to give you a couple of options to listen to the audio materials by Orin, DaBen, and Thaddeus.  You have the option of listening via flash player or your default media player such as Windows Media Player, Real Player, Jukebox, WinAmp, etc.  These media players are available for free from their respective websites. We recommend that you first try playing one of our audio files to see what is set as your default player.

Flash Player: When you see the button "Flash" that means that the audio is posted in Flash format that can be played by Flash if installed on your computer.  Flash is supported by 98% of the word’s personal computers. If our audio files do not play on your computer, please download the free Flash player from Macromedia.  The latest version of Flash player will work the best.  To find out what Flash player you have, test your player version here.

RealOne Player allows you to receive and play "streaming" media. These audio files are sent in small batches to reduce download time. Visit Real Player's website for a variety of free downloads for a variety of operating systems.

Windows Media Player - you can download the latest version at no cost. Before downloading the player, please review the system requirements on their website to make sure your computer is compatible with the player.

Can't Play Audio or Connect to the Server?
If you are having difficulty connecting, try the following solutions:

  • Reload the audio program link.
  • In the event that the media stream begins to buffer too long (i.e., pause for long periods between audio/video), click to STOP your player and then press PLAY again. If this does not work, restarting your computer may help.

If you are experiencing difficulty listening to streaming files, you can consult the technical division associated with the player you are using as we do not have a computer department or the expertise to assist you.  One common problem with playing clips is high network traffic during the peak hours between 6 PM and 11 PM in the evenings. These are peak hours on the Internet, and high network traffic is probably the cause of the problem.

For Real Audio, first test your RealOne Player and verify that you can play the clips available in the RealOne Guide. If these clips do not play, consult the Real.com Knowledge Base troubleshooting tips. We suggest you contact RealAudio's technical support for further assistance.

If you are using Windows Media Player and are having difficulty, visit Windows Media Player Support Center.

AOL Users
Should you encounter difficulties, try changing your AOL multimedia player settings by selecting Settings, then Preferences, then Mutlimedia. Once you've done that, de-select the “Use the AOL Media Player for supported file types” option. If this does not work, select Tools, then Options, then Network. Next, select HTTP as the only method for Microsoft Windows Media Player streaming.  If you continue to have difficulty after that, please contact AOL for additional support.

Can't Hear Any Sound?
If you don't hear sound when you try to play a clip, first make sure your speakers are plugged in and that the volume is turned up loud enough.  You may need to adjust your system's sound configuration or update your sound card drivers.

To check the volume levels in Windows:

  • Double-click the speaker icon next to the clock in the lower right corner of your monitor.
  • Make sure that Mute is not selected for either the Volume Control (Play Control) or Wave (Wave/Direct Sound) sliders.

If the driver software that sends information to your sound card is out of date or has problems, media Players may not be able to play sound. Contact your sound card's manufacturer for information on installing the latest drivers.

Sound Quality Problems?
This is most likely due to Internet or local network traffic. If audio sounds too fast, too slow, scratchy, or distorted, you may want to try a different playback method and if that still doesn't solve it, you may want to consider contacting the technical division associated with your media player.

Music or meditations start and stop
If you are experiencing intermittent interruptions, you may be having difficulty because of Internet congestion and not because of a problem with your media player or RealOne Player or your Internet service. Internet congestion is bothersome for all of us. When a lot of people are using the Internet it creates the stopping and starting of the audio that you are experiencing, as well as interruption of radio and video clips, regardless of what player is being used. On your RealOne Player you will see a message saying "buffering", or something like that, when the music stops playing.

You may want to try and listen to seminar journeys at less popular times - when the Internet is less congested. You may also want to consider using a different player, go here for your choices.

We will hold a vision that you are able to enjoy the talks and meditations any time you want with ease.
